DAM is positioned as an innovative company within the sector.

Training of DAM’s technicians through Virtual Reality
CHALLENGE
_
Over time, DAM has expanded its line of business and has specialized in: engineering, hydraulic works, underwater outfalls and biosolid waste management. They also worried about the Research, Development and Innovation (R + D + i) department in order to have a competitive advantage in the current European market. The main problem in DAM’s installations is the possibility of incidents and emergency situations. Such as flooding of modules or work accidents, which put workers and company facilities at high risk. Consequently they will have to spend a lot of time and resources in order to solve the problems. So naturally arose the need to optimize the maintenance and repair processes of the facilities.
SOLUTION
_
The best solution in this case was the Training VR . The company has opted to use Virtual Reality in its EDAR implants in Alzira-Carcaixent (Valencia). In fact, through a virtual 3D model of the EDAR, its technicians have received specific training and learned to correctly and safely carry out the tasks that have to do with the maintenance and repair of the installations. The virtual experience is totally immersive and the user, through Virtual Reality (VR) glasses, has the opportunity to directly experience the sensation of solving incidents that may occur. This is possible throw having a concrete and functional experience with greater probability of success.
COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES
_
The use of VR technology allows to have an important competitive advantage in the European and international market. In addition, the optimization of business processes includes saving time, human and monetary resources, guaranteeing training that allows an immersive and direct experience capable of simulating real problem situations.
BENEFICIOS
TECHNOLOGY
For this project we have opted for the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality device, which allows us to achieve the highest graphic quality since it works connected to a computer.
The Oculus Insight system works at room scale, allowing users to move around a real space while interacting with the application. The Rift S visor has five sensors to track movements, with a system that works from the inside out. Moreover the closest position tracking is enhanced to improve the sensation when grasping and pointing to objects in the game.
The Oculus Rift S also allows us to see the environment without having to remove our helmet.
