Trumpf aim is to present its new laser cutting machines at the important MetalMadrid industrial fair. In this case, the machines have big dimensions and also have a wide variety of processes that are important to show at the customers. Moving the machines and being able to offer all the necessary information represent a problem to be solved. In addition, being able to attract the attention of visitors is also very important in order to get more sales. So the fundamental problem is to find a way to present large-scale laser cutting machines to the fair stand, making their transfer and commercial actions possible.
Thanks to Innoarea‘s solutions Trumpf managed to achieve its objectives. For the immersive visualization and interaction with Virtual Reality we resort to Virtual Showroom and Training VR solutions. Through our InnoSHOWROOM we overcome the physical limitations of the exhibition space, allowing Trumpf to take their machines anywhere and show them to their customers as if they were in front of them. As a result, this Industry 4.0 experience allows us to see an industry connected with Trumpf machines in operation. The visitor, through Virtual Reality, attends the manufacturing process, where they can see the different production phases. Through our Smart Factory TruConect app we can learn about the manufacturing process of a fully automated product.
Choosing to present a product through a Virtual Showroom allows viewing in an infinite immersive environment, without walls or limits. An interactive experience is carried out in which customers can take tours of any space or installation of the product and interact with all types of objects present. Its easy-to-move feature allows you to save costs and quickly reach a larger number of customers.
For this project we have opted for the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality device, which allows us to achieve the highest graphic quality since it works connected to a computer.
The Oculus Insight system works at room scale, allowing users to move around a real space while interacting with the application. The Rift S visor has five sensors to track movements, with a system that works from the inside out.
Moreover the closest position tracking is enhanced to improve the sensation when grasping and pointing to objects in the game. The Oculus Rift S also allows us to see the environment without having to remove our helmet.
